Minions capture voters hearts in 2015 Scarecrow Contest

Your 2015 Saline Scarecrow Contest entries had to withstand some pretty harsh wind, rain and cold conditions to make it to the end of the voting period this year.  The Chief Scarecrow Curator, aka Dr. Rob Borer had his hands full counteracting the forces of mother nature to keep this years entries in a vote worthy condition.  But by the end of the contest all scarecrows were still standing even if they were a little worse for the wear. 

This year's entries showed an amazing assortment of talent, creativity and artistic expression.  Downtown Saline, Michigan has been a joyful, entertaining, fun destination this past October as a result of all the hard work and wonderful energy by all those who put their talents to work in creating their entries for this years contest.  A great big thank you and congratulations for your efforts and initiative to everyone that entered.

And now that we have come to the end of the voting period the voters have spoken and we have our winners selected by popular vote.  Ribbons have been placed on all the entries to acknowledge their participation in this years contest. So without further ado... here are your winners!

In the "Individual" category with 103 votes was the "Minion Trio" created by Lydia Alig, Lydia Alig and aunt Sandy Tilt.

The first place winner in the "Group" Category was "Touched by an Angel" created by the Youth Group of St Paul's United Church of Christ in Saline with 177 votes.

The first place winner in the "Small Business" Category was Michigan Orthodontics with 327 votes.
