The big problem with current medical treatment for whiplash after an auto accident is that 43% of patients enter into a ‘black hole’ during recovery – and never come out. These 43% of whiplash patients will end up with long-term symptoms.
The statistics are actually worse than this. If a whiplash patient still has symptoms after three months, the symptoms will linger. This happens in up to half of all cases.
That spells disaster for the patient as his or her life is ruined, and spells failure for the medical care. In fact, in one study that appeared in the International Journal of the Care of the Injured in 1996, researchers commented, “No conventional treatment has ever proved to be effective in these established chronic cases.”
That’s not a good prognosis for those who are suffering from whiplash resulting from an auto accident.
The researchers decided to see if alternative health care methods – the same ones that your Saline chiropractor uses on patients with an auto injury – could possibly change this grim circumstance.
They treated 28 patients with the symptoms of chronic whiplash pain. On average, the patients had been suffering 15.5 months after their auto accident. A chiropractor and orthopedic medical doctor rated patients according to their pain and symptoms: no symptoms, nuisance symptoms, symptoms that intrude upon one’s life and disabling symptoms. Twenty-seven patients were in the two worst groups.
But here’s the beauty of what happened to these incurable whiplash patients: they began healing. By the end of the study, 93% of the auto accident patients had improved. Seventeen of them – 63% who had stopped their treatment altogether because there was no need to continue.
Imagine that. An ‘incurable’ condition resulting from an auto injury is almost totally successful in resolving the condition – and it’s the same method that your Saline chiropractor uses every day in practice.
